Anaheim Ducks Tickets Online:
March 4, 2008 - The Anaheim Ducks are based in Anaheim, California and are members of the Pacific Division in the Western Conference in the NHL. The team was founded in 1993 by the Walt Disney Company.
They were known as the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim (which was a name that was based on the film The Mighty Ducks) until 2006. The team was renamed after they were sold to Henry and Susan Samueli prior to the 2006 season when they became known as the Anaheim Ducks.
The team won one Division Championship (2006-07), two Conference Championships (2002-03, 2006-07) and one Stanley cup in 2006-07. This team is relatively new in NHL terms, but they have already accomplished a lot in the time they have had.
Ducks History
March 4, 2008 - The Ducks started out in 1993 picking Paul Kariya to lead the team forward. He was a fan favorite and was crucial to the Duck's franchise.
During the early years with the team, they had struggles against some of the more well-seasoned teams such as the Detroit Red Wings. The team beat them to the Stanley Cup Championship in the second round of the 1996-97 playoffs.
The 2003 Stanley Cup Finals was against the New Jersey Devils. The most notable event of this game was when Kariya was knocked out and moved to the dressing room, and just over ten minutes later returned to help bring the Ducks back in the running by tying the series. The Ducks couldn't hold on to their Cinderella story, and lost the final game against the Devils.
